Only 7 km from the town of Brixen, the gondola lift starts its journey into one of the most beautiful hiking areas in South Tyrol – Mount Plose. Well-groomed hiking trails, panoramic views of the majestic Dolomites and the mountain ranges on the main Alpine ridge – combined with blooming alpine meadows and wide valley views. The panoramic and circular hiking itineraries offer a relaxation factor of 100, while you may indulge in culinary delights in 13 alpine huts and lodges.

Mount Plose is THE panoramic mountain with a view of the Dolomites. A breath-taking panorama already opens up at the mountain station of the PLOSE gondola lift. Sas de Putia with the Aferer and Villnösser Odle Peaks form a unique backdrop for all summit hikes and tours that take you along the south-eastern slopes.

Hikes to alpine huts
You don’t need to conquer high peaks – even a stop in an alpine lodge offers great joys. From rustic alpine huts to the traditional shelters and our mountain restaurants, all can be reached via easy and safe paths and are well distributed in the hiking area.

One of the most enjoyable ways to get to know the country and its people is to go hiking with the locals. This is exactly what our qualified hiking guides do – They take you on a tour that turns hiking into an experience.
High Mountain Trails
The Plose serves as the starting point for great Dolomite adventures. Two of the most impressive long-distance hiking trails begin in Brixen, leading you step by step into the fascinating mountain landscape of the Dolomites. Dolomite High Route No. 2 runs from Brixen up to the Plose and ends in Feltre after 14–15 days and 185 km. Dolomite High Route No. 8—also known as the “Path of Panoramas”—covers a distance of 160 km, leading all the way to Salorno.

The traditional alpine hut is located on a vast clearing at 1,700 m above sea level. If you are looking for peace, this is the place for you! The hut can be reached from the Ackerboden car park in 1 hour, in summer also via the Brixen Altitude Trail in 3 hours.

The alpine lodge ban rutzner is located just 100 meters above the PLOSE valley station, surrounded by the hiking, skiing and tobogganing area Mount Plose. Relaxation, great food, a pleasant ambiance and a playground for kids are just a few of the highlights at the ban rutzner. Rosi and Andi will pamper your taste buds with home-made, typical South Tyrolean dishes, such as “Schlutzkrapfen” (ravioli filled with spinach), dumplings or the Trametsch burger made from local beef.
