Bressanone Altitude Trail

From the mountain station of the cable car, the well-marked trail initially climbs slightly, then continues on a level course northwards along the upper limit of the stone pine forest. After a small saddle on the west slope of Schönjöchl, you first cross the pronounced Trametsch trench below the lodge Plosehütte and then other hollows and ditches on the west and north-west slopes of the Telegraph to the lodge Ochsenalm. The steep slopes are plentifully covered with alpine roses (flowering from late June to mid-July). The views of the city of Bressanone are striking; on a clear day, the vista extends to the Sarntal mountains in the west, to the Stubai mountains in the northwest and over the Fundres mountains to the Zillertal main ridge in the north.

The way back follows the same route.

Important: For hikes in the mountains you need proper equipment. Always wear sturdy shoes with non-slip soles, and bring rain protection, a warm jacket, even in summer, and plenty of water with you. Hiking at your own risk.
