Ski and Snowboard

Skiing and Snowboarding

At last winter. The sky is blue, the slopes white, the sun is shining and you can almost smell the joy of winter fun. From the top of the Plose you will experience a breathtaking 360 ° panoramic view of the impressive Dolomite mountains in the south and the Central Alps in the north.

The Pleasure of Skiing

Skiing and snowboarding on well prepared slopes, enjoying the winter sun and the fresh air of the mountains while getting fantastic views of the “most  beautiful mountains in the world”, the Dolomites, and relishing the service of the many ski huts – these are the ingredients of a day on the Plose.

The ski resort is very appreciated for ist well structured net of slopes, hikes, lift installations and – last but not least – the combination of cosiness and style in the mountain restaurants.

Skiing has considerable demands on physical conditions. Therefore, check your strength, endurance and coordination already in the fall and prepare yourself for the following season!

Warm up before each downhill and activate your circuit. Already by 10 minutes hull circles, leg lifts and squats, you decrease your risk of accidents. Start only when you feel ready to go!

How to enter the ski resort

The gondola lift Plose is only 7 km away from Bressanone / Brixen. There are lots of parking spots available there. You can also take the Skibus that connects Bressanone / Brixen and its surroundings with the gondola lift.

At the valley station you will find Sportservice Erwin Stricker, the right service provider for the rental of skies, toboggans,  equipment and accessories, and the Ski School Plose for all those who want to take some lessons.

Once you have entered the gondola lift, sit down, relax and enjoy the panoramic view. As soon as you get to the top station you will find yourself right at the center of the ski resort. Here you meet other skiers, snowboarders, visitors that go for a toboggan run, a walk along the winter hiking trails and those you just come up all the way to enjoy the view over a nice cup of coffee. Visitors can enter the ski resort at Palmschoss (chairlift) or at Skihütte/Rifugio Sci (gondola lift Pfannspitz) as well.

Some facts about the ski resort

The highest top station of a lift installation is at an altitude of 2.505m (chair lift Rossalm), the lowest bottom station lays at 1.067m (Gondola lift Plose). Seven modern lifts take you to the slope you want to ski down. In between there are more than 40 km of slopes for skiers and Snowboarders.

There are 20 km of blue slopes, 16 km of red slopes and 6 km of black slopes at the skiers’ disposal.
Beginners:  There are pistes for beginners at the Kinderland, right next to the valley station of the gondola lift Plose and at the place called Skihütte. Magic carpets bring the skiers up the hill. At the Kinderland there is also a skilift.
Average skiers: The many blu and red pistes take you to every single skihut in the ski area. That is one of the facts that make the ski resort so  attractive. The variaty of blue and red slopes guarantee fun and little thrills for average skiers. Our suggestion for enthusiasts of tecnically demanding slopes is the red piste nr. 4, Palmschoss. It is full of natural curves and meanders mostly through the Woods until it gets to the place called Palmschoss / Plancios. The ride back up on our nostalgic 2-seater chair lift will give you time to relax and enjoy in ist very special way.
Expert skiers:  On the Plose you also find black pistes that make the heart of any expert skiers beat. First of all there ist the TRAMETSCH, the longest valley slope in South Tyrol with 9 km length and 1,400 meters in altitude. Starting from winterseason 2019/20 there is another special black slope, the new “Crazy Horse” race track on the Pfannspitz. The black piste (piste no. 88) is dedicated to racing legend Erwin Stricker and should be to his taste: steep and fast with a sensational panoramic view.
Freestylers:  Freestylers will enjoy the Funpark Plose. It is one of the most scenic snowparks in the Dolomites and with its Easy Line it promisses great fun for all beginners.
