Mountainbike Testival and Cai Dom
Cai Dom
The Cai Dom race is still one of the longest and most beautiful downhill races in the world
The name of the downhill race Cai Dom comes from the Cai hut, the highest point of the Plose mountain (2576 meters) where the race starts and the Dom square in Brixen (566 meters) where the race ends.
The race premiered in 2005, but only few courageous people threw themselves from the top of the mountain to the town center. In the following years the number of racers went up, people from abroad started to come and win. Now the race counts over 300 participants.
Dom Cai
In addition to the traditional Cai Dom race, in 2009 for the first time was organized a Dom Cai race. The best bikers took about 2 hours to master the 2000 meters difference in altitude. In terms of technique the race reaches the level of the traditional Cai Dom race.
In addition to the Cai Dom and the Dom Cai race, there was also the combination of both uphill and downhill races, the winner of which was nominated first “King of the Plose”.
