Woody walk the entertaining circular family route

Whether it is to do a short time walking in the airy heights or an excursion with baggage for a whole day: woody walk is definitely the ideal destination.

As the first part of the Dolomites Panorama route this path, suitable also for strollers, offers breathtaking views of the Dolomites with Peitlerkofel, Aferer and Odle and the famous mountains of the southern Isarco valley. Along the way there are numerous attractive stations, which provide variety and invite to play and relaxation. For those who are hungry and would rather be served than sit and enjoy homemade food on one of the picnic tables, there is the Rossalm. This doesn’t only provide for the physical wellbeing, but also offers great entertainment for the youngest ones. There is a huge playground, a small Zoo and sometimes there are even horses.

To go back you can take the same path or, if you want to get some change, you can take another forest path which will always take you to Kreuztal.

Course

Starting from the cable car take route N° 17, go south-eastwards to the chapel and eastwards to the Plose road. Take the high level path on the right crossing meadows always continuing eastwards. At the bifurcation follow path n° 17A, passing by the old Rossalm, you will reach the higher new Rossalm (2200 m). The way back is on the forest path n° 14.
