Snowshoe hikes on the Plose

Our snowshoe trails

From the top station of the gondola lift Plose to Skihütte

This easy tour starts at the top station of the gondola lift and leads, slightly uphill, towards east. After about 30 minutes you get to a fork where you choose the right road to Skihütte. You continue on the almost flat wood border until you reach the ditches and small indentations along the route to Skihütte. At the Hotel Schlemmer you can end you excursion with a nice meal.

The path is about 3 km long. For one way you should calculate about 1.5 hours.

From the top station of the gondola lift Plose to the Rossalm

In Kreuztal you can start for a relatively short snowshoe hike to the Rossalm. The hike is especially suitable for beginners who want to experience a snowshoe hike even with little previous experience. The path leads slightly uphill for about 2.5 km respectively about 45-60 minutes to one of the most popular huts in the whole Plose area. You can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Southern Alps: the Peitlerkofel and the mighty Geisler peaks.

The return trip can be done on the same route or on a regularly groomed winter hiking trail.

Renting out snowshoes

You can rent your snowshoes at Sportservice Erwin Stricker, located at the bottom station of the gondola lift Plose. You can also buy your pair of snowshoes at the shop, located there too.
